More than excitement is building on the #ChapmanU campus these days: the Musco Center for the Arts is still on-track to open next spring, and Sebastian P. and Marybelle Musco (the building's namesakes) recently toured Chapman's newest performing arts center for the first time. Meet Allison Rego, MA, LMFT (Class of 2011) and hear about how her experiences in the MFT program at Chapman prepared her for life after graduation. . . "My education, training, and experience at Chapman greatly prepared me to achieve my goal of being a psychotherapist, a goal I've had since the age of 17. After graduating, Chapman linked me to a resource to apply for an MFT stipend. I was chosen to receive this stipend, which motivated me to work for the county as a mental health field based therapist. As I transitioned from school into the work force, I began to recognize how great of an education I received at Chapman when I knew the answers to many of the questions that my fellow therapists were asking in my supervision groups. I was able to apply my training and experience from Chapman to effectively work with clients who struggle with depression, anxiety, disruptive behavior, and trauma. When preparing for my licensing exam to becoming a licensed MFT, I realized even more how well Chapman had prepared me. Now, I have opened up a private practice in Tustin, California, a goal that seemed so distant, yet desired, back when I was studying at Chapman. I am thankful for everyone at Chapman who provided the strong education I received there that helped me to get to this point in my career."
