Chapman University's Office of the President

Here are photos of dynamic and spirited Chapman student I’ve ever met, Mandi Ortiz. Makes sense since she is a co-captain of Chapman’s cheerleading squad, an on-camera reporter for Chapman News and a tour guide for Chapman’s Office of Admission. She’s also a Strategic and Corporate Communications major with a minor in Broadcast Journalism. What a dynamo! It’s so refreshing to meet someone with such a positive spirit. By the way, she is on the Angels’ (I don’t use “LA Angels”) Strike Force team. That means she is the one who shoots off t-shirts to people in the stands. She promised me that she would aim at anyone wearing a Chapman shirt at the games. So watch out for her! JLD

WORDS OF A STUDENT: Ryan Rodriguez '17 "Thank you all for your generous donations to Chapman University that have led to the university's growth and development. These donations have enhanced my Chapman experience by providing the university with high caliber professors. And, because of Chapman's small class sizes, I am able to get to know my professors on a personal level such as my favorite professor, Cory O'Connor. His passion for the world of advertising has both inspired and motivated me to one day work in advertising." WORDS OF A RECENT GRADUATE: Jasmine Johnson '15 "Words cannot express my gratitude to the donors who give to Chapman. I grew up homeless and never in a million years did I think I would be graduating from a four-year university. Because of your generosity, I will be completing my degree with three majors at Chapman. I have traveled abroad twice to Australia and Italy, I have traveled our country with the speech and debate team, completed a mission trip to help the homeless in San Francisco, and have become a strong advocate for social justice issues. Chapman is not only my school, but it is my job and my home. I can't speak for all the students of Chapman, but I can say that your gifts to Chapman mean all the world to me. They mean a better life and an even brighter future." Jasmine Johnson '15 Majors: Creative writing, communication studies, television and broadcast journalism Hometown: Cleveland, OH

WORDS OF A STUDENT: Natalie Lund '19 "If it was not for the half tuition scholarship that is provided through Disciples on Campus, I would not be able to attend Chapman or any sort of private school for that matter. It is here at Chapman that I get the opportunity to explore major classes as a freshman, get to know the students and professors in my classes, and grow as an individual both through the Disciples on Campus program and the rest of my everyday life. No other school besides Chapman has the strategic and corporate communications major, or a Disciples on Campus program as well-developed and strong as the one here at Chapman. Chapman is the perfect school for me and it would not be possible with the help of my scholarship. So, thank you."
