On Saturday at Wallace All Faiths Chapel, there was a moving memorial service for Rev. Dr. Cameron Sinclair. Wonderful remembrances from Marilyn Harran, Wendy Salmond, Beverly Weatherill, Roy Bullock, Dennis Short and Cam’s family rekindled warm memories of a true Chapman champion. In addition to serving Chapman as a Professor of Religion and Linguistics, Cam also served as our V.P. for Academic Affairs during 1980’s. He will be missed but his impact in the life and times of Chapman will never be forgotten. JLD

In preparation for Cheryl Strayed’s visit to Chapman on Tuesday, September 29, the Alumni Association and Wilkinson College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences joined forces to connect with alumni to hear their stories and experiences with the Chapman Family about their challenges in the wilderness. A few alumni wrote stories and submitted them. Take a look! If you are alumni and wanted to enter but didn’t get a chance, you still can participate by sending an email to alumni@chapman.edu with #CUWild Blog Post in the subject line.

TONIGHT'S THE NIGHT!!! The future of performing arts at Chapman University begins tonight, when we open the doors of Musco Center for the Arts for the world to experience for the first time. Even after the songs have been sung, the speeches made, and the final note of the evening played, the REAL magic will begin when our students take their performing arts education into this facility. This is where they will continue to develop and hone their chosen craft, and it is the magic of THEIR art that we truly cannot wait to experience. This is THEIR HOUSE! #ChapmanU #ChapmanCoPA #MuscoCenter #Music #Dance #Theatre #ThisIsOurHouse

This year the College of Performing Arts offered TH 351: The Study of Ancient Theater and Its Lasting Influence as an opportunity for students to explore many historic sites of the arts in Italy, Germany, Poland, Estonia, Sweden, and Denmark. The course is taught by Don Guy, Associate Professor in the Deparment of Theatre and Chapman's Director of Production in Entertainment Technology; and Alicia Guy, Associate Professor from the Department of Dance. Last Friday, I was privileged to represent Chapman at the Solar Decathlon. I joined Chancellor Howard Gillman of UCI, President Glenn Roquemore of Irvine Valley College and President Tod Burnett of Saddleback College in announcing a student team of 100 students from our schools to compete in the 2015 Solar Decathlon. Our Team OC will compete against 19 other student teams from across the nation. I wish to thank our Chapman students for their participation and Professor Fred Smoller for his leadership in making Chapman a partner in this important project.
