WORDS OF A STUDENT: Catherine Markey '17 "Chapman University is the school of my dreams! I hope to pursue a career in education and feel lucky to be a part of the Integrated Educational Studies program here at Chapman. It simply wouldn't be possible for me to attend this fantastic university without the generous support of our donors. I cannot thank you enough for this incredible opportunity, I am so grateful." In the Attallah Piazza recently, I was ordering a great cup of java from Natalie Halfacre-Wilkinson and her husband Gavin’s Aussie Coffee Bean when three Chapman students introduced themselves to me. They were the Wimberleys: Danielle, Mark and Michael. Although they are different ages, all three siblings are Chapman juniors. Michael told me that they are so close that they do everything together as a team. They even have their own Bluegrass Band! In fact, on Thursday mornings at 8:00 a.m., they host Chapman Radio’s “The Wimberley Bluegrass Hour.” That’s not all. There is a fourth Wimberley junior. James, also at Chapman who was taking an exam and wasn’t there with the clan. Here’s a selfie of me with three of the Wimberleys. JLD

Throughout this spring semester, Chapman University is partnering with Pacific Symphony to take you on a journey celebrating the works of William Shakespeare through #film, #music, #theatre, and #dance. If you haven't already, we hope you'll join us for one of the upcoming events we have planned as part of Shakespeare Reimagined: Interpretations Across the Arts. UP NEXT: The Chapman Orchestra presents: A Midsummer Night's Dream. Along with the Chapman University Women's Choir and a collaboration with students from the Department of Theatre, the evening consists of a semi-staged version of Mendelssohn's complete incidental music to Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night’s Dream." The program also includes "Ah non credea" and "Ah non giunge" from "La Sonnambula" by Bellini and "Wesendonck Lieder" by Wagner. Winners of Chapman's Instrumental and Vocal Competition, Daniel Emmet (baritone) and Kylena Parks (soprano), will be featured. WHEN: Friday, March 13, 7:30 p.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 154 S. Shaffer Street, Orange. Admission is FREE!
