WORDS OF A STUDENT: Samantha Cressey '15 "I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the ability to attend Chapman University, thanks to the generous gifts of our donors. Through Chapman, I have been able to study abroad in Cape Town, South Africa; present my original research at a professional conference in San Francisco; hold a major leadership position within the school community; and travel to Berlin, Germany to attend an international academic conference with my professor Dr. Fuery. Needless to say, I have had a truly personalized education not often found at undergraduate universities! I am so thankful for these opportunities Chapman has provided me with, as they have helped me to grow into a more global citizen, a more critical thinker, and a better leader. Thank you again for your constant support and for enabling me to have a Chapman experience." WORDS OF A STUDENT: Kyle Herron '16 "In the spring of 2015, I transferred to Chapman University with an uncertainty of how I would adapt to a new culture. Almost immediately upon arriving on campus, that feeling was diminished by the welcoming arms of the Chapman family. I felt at home in the state-of-the-art facilities and stimulating academic environment. With the help of the powerful and respected Chapman alumni network, it took me only a few weeks before I had summer internship opportunities. Now, thanks to Chapman donor support, the dream I have for a future in music business is becoming a tangible reality." WORDS OF AN ALUMNA: Yvonne Cone '09 “Thanks to Chapman's donors, I was able to attend Chapman with a partial scholarship for my entire four years. This allowed me to leave school with very little debt, which afforded me the ability to move to the East Coast and begin my regional theatre and Off-Broadway career without the worries and stresses of debt looming over me. I was on the Dean's list all 4 years, graduated Magna Cum Laude with Honors. This was due to the incredible professors I had in Michael Nehring, Tamiko Washington and Tom Bradac. Because of them I was offered positions in a professional company (Shakespeare Orange County) all four years of my undergraduate career. Having supportive teachers who fueled my career and my desire for learning more about myself through Chapman's liberal arts education shaped me into who I am today. I come back to California once a year, and it is a tradition for me to come back to campus, visit the people I love, and remember all of the wonderful experiences I had there as an undergrad." WORDS OF A STUDENT: Angela Redwine '18 "Thank you so much for your ongoing support of Chapman University and students like me, who would not be able to attend this amazing institution without your help. Next semester, I am going to be studying abroad in Florence, Italy, which would not be possible if it were not for so many great donors contributing toward the Chapman Fund. I have made many meaningful connections here at Chapman and I plan to attend graduate school here once I finish my Bachelor's degree. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to take advantage of all that Chapman University has to offer while striving toward my personal educational and career goals." Words of a Student: Christina Cherekdjian '19 "As soon as I visited Chapman I knew this was a place that I would help me grow into the person that I wanted to become. From the ambitious courses, to the wide variety of extracurriculars, I knew I would be challenged while exploring new facets of myself. This aspect of Chapman is something extremely unique and specific that allows students to cater their education to meet their own career goals. None of what makes Chapman the school that it is today would be possible without donor support. Chapman is a place that I'm proud to feel at home at, and support from donors means the absolute world to me. Thank you so very much!" Words of a Student: Kati Simpson '17 "I am truly thankful for the support of donor contributions which have provided me with the opportunity to pursue my studies at Chapman University. In the fall of 2015, I underwent an invasive spinal surgery and was forced to take a medical leave from my studies. After an extensive recovery, I was anxious to return to the school I once called home. The support from merit scholarships, personal connections with professors, various involvements on campus and opportunities to travel allowed me a swift transition back to Chapman. Because of the unwavering support in all realms, I am eager to pay it forward, serve others and spread the Chappy-ness wherever I go. I am incredibly grateful for the generous donor contributions and merit scholarships that have allowed me to experience all Chapman University has to offer, and supported me throughout life's tribulations." It was an eye-opening experience to see the enormous support system that contributes to Chapman's success.
