Chapman University - Marriage & Family Therapy Program
July 11, 2016
Meet Diana Armendariz (Class of 2017) and hear about her experience in the MFT Program at Chapman University . . . "Coming to the MFT program at Chapman was one of the best decisions I've ever made. As a member of the LGBT community it was important to me that whatever program I chose be accepting and supportive of the community and Chapman has far exceeded my wishes. I've learned so much that will help me in my future as an MFT but also about myself. I've grown so much personally and made so many connections with other students, faculty and guests that I know will last for the rest of my life and career. I'm excited for the future and to see what it holds for me."

Meet Jessie Rosas (Class of 2017) and hear about her experience in the MFT program at Chapman University . . . "The MFT Program at Chapman has taken me on such an incredible journey as a student, clinician, and person. The most powerful part of the program has been the unique experience of having an onsite clinic. Not only is there extensive support throughout the program, but the supervision during my traineeship has been truly unparalleled. I believe I have learned valuable skills and have grown immensely in my time here at Chapman. The emphasis on self-care has taught me the importance of investing in the things I love as I continue on in this profession. As I look forward to what the future holds I am excited to continue learning and being open to new experiences along this journey!"

Being an Orientation Leader was one of the best opportunities I could've had here, and I REALLY encourage anyone reading this to apply at some point in their 4 years at Chapman. To be a part of 150 of some of the best student leaders that campus has to offer and to help welcome new families and students to the Chapman community was a phenomenal experience. I decided to use a picture of a few delirious OLs being derps during training last fall because while I loved helping out my freshmen, I also really enjoyed bonding with other panthers that are as involved on campus (if not more) as I am! 🐾- Sagar Kamnani #ChapmanU #CaptureCU #Fenestra

Being in touch with my Asian American Culture was very important to me as I went off to college. I stumbled upon the Asian Pacific Student Association (APSA) around my sophomore year, and it was actually the first student group I got involved in! The best part of APSA for me was our annual Asian Pacific Islander Celebration (API for short), an awesome night that we put on for the Chapman community filled with food, performances, lights and boba. The cherry on top was that last spring I got to help out the rest of the Exec Board with planning the event! Be sure to check out @chapmanapsa on Orgsync and FB if you were ever interested in Asian culture. Everyone is welcome!🏮- Sagar Kamnani #ChapmanU #CaptureCU #API

Alumni in Action: Sarah Dawson ('14, BFA Creative Producing, Minor in Sociology). Beginning at the end of October, I will be teaching English in Aranyaprathet, Thailand - three hours from Bangkok and six kilometers from the Cambodian border. I will be teaching at a large government school of about 2,500 students, and my classes will consist of students ages 12-16. My contract is for six months, but I have the option to extend it if I really fall in love! If not, I plan on traveling Southeast Asia for two months after the semester ends in April. My sociology courses at Chapman - specifically Global Family Systems with the wonderful Professor Pat See - are what initially inspired me to take this step post-grad, even though I majored in film at Chapman. I could not be more excited and definitely have Chapman to thank for encouraging me to embrace my global citizenship!

Chapman University's Office of the President
May 29, 2015
That’s Steve Simmons’65 who visited Chapman last week as a member of our 50 Year Graduating Class. Steve who majored in history was on our track and basketball teams. He went on to coach several U.S. Olympic teams. Here is Steve in my office pointing out where former President Davis of Chapman was looking when he saw catching a few winks in the bushes while he should have been painting Memorial Hall. As Steve told me, “Dang it! How stupid of me to pick napping right under the window of President Davis.” I enjoyed seeing all 14 members of the class of ’65 who came back to mother Chapman for the commencement festivities. And my heartiest congratulations to our 2,400 grads. Yes, you read it right: 2,400 grads! JLD

Chapman MBA
April 20, 2017
Student Feature: Linda Zheng, Professional MBA '18 Graduating from Xian International Studies University and specializing in Japanese culture and economy, I am eager to develop my business knowledge and get into a multinational corporation to fulfill my career aspirations. As the Chinese saying goes, every success relies on three vital factors: a favorable climate, a geographical convenience and a harmonious human relationship. It is not only the comfortable and beautiful environment that attracts me to Chapman, but also the strong connections that the university has to America’s prominent companies. I believe that after I finish the MBA program, I will have more chances to start a promising career. Also, Chapman has excellent faculty members and a very useful Career Development Center that helps students a lot. My favorite thing about Chapman is that there are always lots of events, workshops, and career fairs available.
