Meet Lisa McKinney (Class of 2016) and hear about her journey in the MFT program here at Chapman . . . "Before entering the MFT program at Chapman, I had one goal in mind: helping other people. While this was an admirable goal, I had no means or tools to allow me to execute the goal in the way I hoped to. However, in my time at Chapman, I have been able to build an expansive psychotherapeutic toolkit that I can now take with me wherever I go. Once I began as an MFT trainee in the Francis Smith Center, the reality of this toolkit came to life for me. Having the opportunity to work within our clinic has allowed me to experience working with a diverse population of clients, with each session teaching me something new and allowing me to apply one of the many skills my Chapman professors have taken the time to teach me. I look forward to graduating in May having had this experience, as I feel it is one of the richest, most comprehensive traineeships offered to MFT graduate students. Thank you to each professor, supervisor, and faculty member for allowing the MFT program to be the successful learning experience it is."
