The Cheverton Award is the highest honor bestowed on an undergraduate at Chapman and is selected by a vote of the full faculty. The 2018 recipient will be announced at the Campus Leadership Awards on Friday at 2pm in the Fish Interfaith Center.

Chapman for me would not be complete without its faculty. Above is a photo of me and President Doti with his pet hen. This hen is a symbol for Chapman's faculty, and before you get a weird idea, allow me to explain: Chapman's faculty are not chickens. No, no, no. They're at the core, resilient much like the nature of the bird. They have a strong familial sense, a nurturing nature and bold strategies. They push the envelope of the classroom setting. Because of Chapman's intimate class sizes and established faculty, I've constantly been offered additional one-on-one attention and services by my professors. I feel like an individual, an egg in the nest if you will. As the time comes for me to hatch (graduation), I can't help but reflect on how beneficial the Dodge College faculty and Wilkinson College of Humanities have been for me. Individual faculty members (whose names I don't feel the need to expose) have forever instilled knowledge and strategy into me that I will carry into my professional career. For that, this little egg is grateful.

The other day, I posted about my best friends at Chapman. The two gorgeous ladies in this picture with me here, however, are my best friends in the entire world. They also happen to be my sisters. I can't imagine my life without them. I love them both more than words can describe! ❤️

Beyond thankful Chapman allowed me to pursue my research as a sophomore. Now I'm a published author, and have a great addition to my resume and job experience! Not very many schools let undergraduate students do research, so I'm glad I got a head start. 📚

Hands down one of the best experiences I've had at Chapman was performing in skit my freshman year. I think skit is such an awesome concept because it really brings all of Greek Life even closer! All the practices are definitely worth the end result. (Also Despicable Me, best theme ever!) 😎
