For the eighth year, Chapman University gathers as an interfaith community to commemorate Kristallnacht. We not only remember the violence and destruction that swept across Germany on November 9-10, 1938, but we also remember the courageous people from many walks of life who dared to defy Nazi authority to become resisters and rescuers. Our special guest speaker will be Dr. David Crowe, "Oskar Schindler: A Different Choice," and special guest artist will be Rachel Joselson, DMA - Associate Professor, School of Music, University of Iowa. This event will be held tomorrow, Thursday, November 10th from 7:00pm to 8:30pm at the Fish Interfaith Center.

CES could not be more proud of our Leadership Studies PhD student Beatriz Valencia who appears in this “Women's March Los Angeles - Why I march” video. Tomorrow, hundreds of thousands of women and men will march in more than 600 cities across the world for gender equality. It’s the 50th anniversary of the original March on Washington in 1967, and Beatriz will be at the center of it all in Washington, D.C. She told us she will be wearing a Chapman CES shirt to “bring you all with me.” She appears at 1:20 and 2:00. To find a march in your area, visit https://www.womensmarch.com/sisters

One of my favorite traditions at Chapman is the annual Winterfest Celebration. In honor of the holiday season, the university comes together to hear live music, listen to timeless Christmas tales and sip the nectar of warm hot chocolate. If that doesn't get ya, there's fake snow! I REPEAT, FAKE SNOW! In past years I've volunteered at this event through our universities Ambassador program! I've had the privilege of pushing Santa's sleigh along cold hard concrete and serving as a line bouncer for antsy children who wait to sit on the fat mans lap. Goals people, it's all about achieving goals. #CaptureCU

The Student Government Association has meant so much to me. I have been apart of this organization for the past three years and have really loved helping better enhance the Chapman experience for all students. Being President has been one of the most rewarding experiences and I have learned so much about my leadership style and the best way to help lead an organization. Looking towards the future, I have a feeling this won't be the last time you see me with this title.
